You could work all Labor Day weekend, but should you?

I think we each need to think about the concept of balance and health as Holidays approach. I tell each new Buyer client that I take Holiday Weekends and Sundays off. There is a regular flow to it and everyone knows what to expect up front . Enjoy your Holiday Weekend!

Could you balance life and work Labor Day weekend?

Given everything I've got to do, the next 4 days could easily be entirely consumed with work.  However, I've been working 7 days a week and my health is suffering for it.  So, I'm not going to work this weekend with a few small exceptions.  You should try to take time off and let yourself recharge for the push into the Fall business season.  There's plenty of work, it won't go away, so take a little time off.

Email and Blogging

These are the two things I do every day.  When I go on vacation my smartphone is always handy to keep on top of emails.  Just weeding through the random stuff keeps the inbox small and makes coming back a lot less daunting.  Sure, my head is "still in the game" but it's going to be anyway, might as well be productive.

As for blogging, I'll be on to make comments by 6AM each morning.  I won't be going full tilt writing market reports but I might post a picture of the ocean for you!

Clients (Now Agents)

I'm a broker so my clients are my agents.  Will I still be available to help them?  You bet.  Will I be watching my phone all day every day?  No.  That's why I have other managers to help out.  Delegation is a good way to get a break.  I've noticed when agents take time off they seldom delegate for fear of losing clients.  Don't worry.  Good clients will understand you need time off.

Mental Health Break

When we get overly tired our brains don't work as well.  So, your job performance actually depends on getting a good night sleep and time off.  Take the time you need to recharge and you'll find that you actually perform better when you return.

Enjoy the weekend in whatever you end up doing!

Have a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend!

Well Cheryl if I didn't have to paint all weekend I would gladly rest. At least I am resting from clients and spending time at home. We have been in remodeling for too long not to take advantage of this 3 day weekend to hopefully get everything ready for the kitchen cabinet installer. Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. Take care.

Good choice for a re-blog. Many real estate professionals fail to take time to refresh themselves and to spend quality time with those that they love.
