Finding a home is a system not a one time door opening event. It takes kissing a few frogs kind of concept to appreciate what the Prince or Princess HOME has to offer. So getting a loan pre approval and covering the Agency steps are part of the path to the place you are going to call your next home.
My Service is More than Unlocking the Front Door. The real estate agent's role with a buyer has grown over the years and there is so much more responsibilities and procedures. When a call comes in to see a property, this Clarksville Real Estate agent will be asking qualifying questions to determine the needs and the viability if this could be a future client.
Some of the questions will be to determine whether the caller is working with another agent or whether they have been looking on their own. Another question is to determine if they know their price range and have gotten a preapproval letter from a reputable lender.
Many times the caller or prospective buyer wants to see a house right then and asks for immediate access to see it. When this happens, a little explanation is in order as to how the process works. This is just what happened this week. As I was explaining the steps and trying to get some information about the buyer, the buyer began to get impatient. "All I need you to do is unlock the front door."
Well my services are much more in-depth than just unlocking the door I explained. I work with buyers under a buyers representation agreement. That is a commitment from both sides that we will be working together toward a goal of finding and contracting on a home. Besides the State of Tennessee says I cannot represent and advise a buyer without this written agreement. This is the way I choose to practice real estate. I represent, help a buyer to negotiate and advocate in their behalf. I see the transaction all the way to the closing and beyond.
My Service is More then Unlocking the Front Door. I am unlocking many doors to the buying and selling process. I will be sharing my knowledge and expertise with my client. I will be working diligently to accomplish my buyer's purchase goals. I will be lending a hand through the inspection, appraisal and loan approval process. I will be their each step of the way. The buyer gets the whole package because that is the way I work.
So just unlocking the door doesn't cut it for me. It will take a little patience on each of our parts to find the right property and to not get the steps out of sink. If you think my service is just to unlock the door, sorry, that will not work. I have invested much more into my career with my education and training and I expect more than that out of it.

Cheryl- Great post to reblog. Often people think they dont needs us.. wait until a transaction get complicated.. then they see our value..
Good morning Cheryl. I agree with Scott, this is a great post to re-blog because Debbie is right and hit it out of the park.
The general public just has no idea about the things we do and don't do. This is a great blog to teach them more. Nice one to Reblog!
Cheryl, Debbie Reynolds has it right - our service entails much more than unlocking doors! Doing only that for potential buyers is a dangerous and irresponsible practice.
