Southern Maryland Best Buys

Like the Postman, I Work Rain or Shine

This is certainly the truth! Not to mention that each time I have taken a Buyer Client out in the pouring down rain one thing has always happened! They have bought a home that day. So yes, I work rain or shine and rain means we are going to find that home today!

Like the Postman, I Work Rain or Shine

Like the Postman, I Work Rain or ShineAs a buyer's agent, I am committed to helping you find the right Franklin TN home. Like the postman, I work rain or shine. Don't think you have to cancel an appointment because of the rain.

I recently took buyers to a new construction site. It was pouring. I mean, pouring. It was muddy and wet. We had scheduled the appointment a couple of weeks earlier and the buyers were committed to finding their new home.

We dressed appropriately; jeans, gym shoes, umbrellas and raincoats. It wasn't any fun but the buyers found the house they had been looking for and we sat down and wrote the contract. The weather didn't keep this couple from buying their dream home and it shouldn't deter you either.

Sellers expect that they may have to leave their home for showings. Even, when it's raining. While it may seem like an inconvenience, they want to sell as much as you want to buy.

Here are a few tips when you're going out in the rain:

  1. Dress appropriately: Wear comfortable, casual clothing. Wear flat shoes like a gym shoe or boot. Bring a raincoat or jacket with a hood.
  2. Bring an umbrella: An umbrella may be cumbersome but it will keep you dry while running from the car to the house.
  3. Be prepared: As a courtesy to sellers, I ask buyers to remove shoes as they enter houses. We don't want to take the risk of getting mud on the carpets. Wear a shoe that you can easily slide on and off. Don't be embarrassed by the holes in your socks.
  4. Expect delays: It takes a little longer to get from point A to point B in the rain. So expect showings to take a little longer.
  5. Leave children with a sitter: This may not be the best day to bring along the kids. Hire a babysitter. You'll be happy you did.

Remember, other committed buyers will still be out, so don't think that beautiful house you saw on-line will still be available when it stops raining. If you keep these things in mind, it will be a good day for all of us. Even if, we get a little soggy in the process.

Like the postman, I work rain or shine.

Cheryl, thanks for the re-blog. I have also had good luck with buyers who I take out in the rain. Maybe, it's because they are tired of me carting them around in all types of weather.
