I love to find a good tool tip and reblog it. When I really like it, I forward it to Evernote where I stash all my projects. Yep, this one is going to Evernote. I can see how this kind of uber organization preparing a blog post will make posting that much easier. Out with, rather in with, Excel spreadsheets.
Techo Tool 101 Sometimes it is the simplest of things that make our business lives easier. Sometimes they are things we have had for a long time and just forgot. Sometimes we don't discover ways to use them until we have done it the hard way for years.
I am sharing my techo tool that makes blogging, sending emails with properties, sharing my YouTube videos, doing social media and other applications so much easier. I create Excel spreadsheets of all the links I use. When I need one of these links all I do is open my Excel spreadsheet and look for the category and copy and paste the link into a blog post, email, message or on a webpage. It saves all kinds of time not having to go to do an IDX search, look for a community page of my website, or my YouTube channel when I have already created the links and short URLs to use in my social media.
Here are some of the categories of searches I have on my spreadsheets.
Individual listing websites with the short URL and longer links. Links to video and virtual tours.
All schools in the school system with individual links. School registration, policies, school calendar and inclement weather instructions.
Individual neighborhood/subdivision searches with homes searched in multiple categories. For instance 3 bedroom homes, 4 bedroom homes, homes with more than one garages, homes with pools, new construction in the neighborhood, HOA information, restrictions, rules and regulations for each neighborhood. I will be adding the Google map of the neighborhood.
Foreclosures and Short Sales. These searches are for the entire town and then broken down by neighborhood, zip and price range.
The Landing Pages on my website for how to sell, market reports, individual neighborhood pages, school reports.
Local events and community places of interest. I use these when writing my localism posts and update the calendar about once a month and add new events.
You Tube Videos organized by category, date with the link and short URL already created.
Previous blog posts with the date, title, specific subject and the link and short URLs.
I plan to add a sheet for my Google Maps I have created.
Check out the video and see what I am talking about. Techo Tool 101 is very basic but a real timesaver once it is created.
