What a great idea. There are over 2,000 Federal Recreation Sites. What a well deserved gift for our Military. Plus, what a fair lifetime pass fee for Seniors. Looking for something to do? Here's a lifetime list of places and events that you could never finish seeing and enjoying with your family.
National Parks Free Annual Pass for U.S. Military
The key word is FREE. A free annual pass to the National Parks and other federal recreational sites is available to U.S. military members and dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Reserve and National Guard members also qualify for a free pass.
The annual passes for the U.S. Military may be obtained in person at a Federal recreational site by showing a Common Access Card (CAC) or Military ID (Form 1173).
There is no special pass for veterans. However, a lifetime pass is available for $10 for those at age 62 or above. Citizens with a permanent disability may qualify for a free pass.
From the website: (http://www.nps.gov/findapark/passes.htm)
A pass is your ticket to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites. Each pass covers entrance fees at national parks and national wildlife refuges as well as standard amenity fees at national forests and grasslands, and at lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation. A pass covers entrance and standard amenity fees for a driver and all passengers in a personal vehicle at per vehicle fee areas (or up to four adults at sites that charge per person). Children age 15 or under are admitted free.
