How To Capture Scrolling Screen

I like SnagIt as my mainstay program to capture screen shots, but ths sure is worth checking out. You always learn good tech tips from fellow Active Rain members. I like the fact you can be out and about and use this anytime or  anywhere.

How To Capture A Scrolling Screen

It was couple of years ago when I seriously started blogging on ActiveRain. I did not know much about blogging then - but I had to blog everyday (Was it September 2010?).  To begin with, it would have been impossible for me to come up with 30 different topics and I did not know anything about Market Reports or listing posts.

So I decided to blog about a topic that was close to my heart - Technology in Real Estate.

I decided to 'blog' about 30 useful websites for this 30-in-30 challenge. To educate about these sites effectively, I had to capture some screenshots.

I am sure you may need to 'capture' the screenshot of your screen for many other reasons - training, education, presentation, support etc.. I may have talked about some paid as well as free software available in market for this purpose - like SnagIt, FastStone Capture, Abbey Screen Capture etc etc. but I am frugal!

Plus, things have changed a lot since then - so today, I'll share a simple trick with you on how to capture the screenshot.

It's a cool Google Chrome extension - 'Screen Capture (from Google)'

Let me show you how simple it is to use.

Step 1: Search for 'Screen Capture from Google' from Google Web Store.

Step 2: Select and install the extension.

Step 3: You'll see the Screen Capture toolbar on right top corner of your screen.

Step 4: Click on this toolbar and select 'Capture Whole Page' or press 'ctrl+alt+H'

Step 5: You'll see the screen scrolling and captured image of the whole page will open up in a new tab. Here you can save the whole screen!

This way, you can capture the whole article or page of the screen! It could be a post on ActiveRain (may be this one?) that you want ot save!

P.S.: I have used Chrome's plug-in for the screenshots examples in this post. I have tested this on Windows 8 OS only and it should work on most computers running Windows operating systems and Chrome browser.
