This whole event was a lot of fun. Margaret Rome tallied the donations for Ovarian.org at around $450. We walked and talked and ate and snapped photos. We totally enjoyed ourselves and hope you do, too, with the photos that are starting to roll in!
When you get a call from the Maryland Queen of Active Rain, Margaret Rome, to attend a special AR Meet up...you just say Yea Ma'am. Cheryl Ritchie started this one and it was picked up with several reblogs along the way. About 15 Active Rainers showed up for a walk along the Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail in Cheasapeake Beach, MD this morning.
The Ovarian Cancer Fund will be the recipient of some much needed cash that they probably wouldn't have had, if it wasn't for the Active Rain walkers.
This one picture below didn't contain everyone in attendance, but it's a great representation of strength of the Active Rain community in Maryland. Can you pick out your favorite Maryland and Virginia bloggers?
Lenn Harley joined us from Virginia, and of course, Margaret Rome from B'more hon. Trying to keep up with Lenn on the trail is harder than you think.
That's me and Margaret, Cheryl Ritchie, a portion of the group getting ready to walk, and me and Fernando Herboso.
Mortgage Mama, Bridget McGee strolling with Stacey Ann Baugh, and Martha Brown just behind. Lenn and Martha were no slackers...it was hard to keep up. Lenn confessed, the sooner we were done, the sooner we could go to breakfast. The bottom panels show the Railway Trail boardwalk, and me and Cheryl Ritchie.
Margaret made us all jealous with her spiffy Active Rain shirt. She made up for it by giving me a signed copy of her fabulous book, "Real Estate, the Rome Way." Margaret is a very special lady.
And if you think we had an Active Rain meetup without food...you would be wrong. Breakfast and good conversation was served at Traders. I ate more than I walked off in the way of calories...sigh!
Active Rain is the community that gives.
