I am loading up a NEW iPAD as I read this so I got a kick out of seeing what someone else sees as their favorite iPAD tips. I like the auction mention below and and also the cart usage for listings. Great Post!
It's true, I have a new love in my life... my iPad! It's my favorite new business tool and it's so much better than I had imagined. I know that many people believe it's just another expensive toy, something to watch videos on or play games with but it's so much more and has quickly become a indispensable part of my business.
My dearest iPad, "how do I love thee, let me count the ways":
It's a great platform for email, much better than my cell phone. The screen is large and I don't have to break out my reading glasses to read documents or view images.
The Notepad feature is great for classes and client meetings.
I plan to put my listing presentation on my iPad and with composite video and stereo inputs I have the option of making my presentation on their large screen TV.
Before I meet with buyers, to show homes, I can throw them all of the listings into my MLS listing cart and I don't have to print everything out.
When I'm out and about showing homes we always seem to find properties that didn't make their wish list. When a client shows an interest in a home that didn't make the list I can pull out my iPad out and show my clients the listing photos and also pull up comps, if they like what they see we can schedule a showing.
Although I've not used this feature, so far, I can video conference on Face Time and do a real time walk through of a property for an out of state client.
When it's time to get down to business I can write contracts and get a wet signature on the screen.
I've already used it to participate in a property auction while I was in a client meeting away from the office, but that's another post.
And just in case I forget my camera my iPad captures very high quality still images, (5 megapixels through a very good lens system), and 1080i high def video. And when I do bring my DSLR along, (with an iPad Camera Connection Kit), I can import photos and videos from my digital camera on site and review what I just shot.
Did I mention my iPad accepts USB direct connect or Secure Digital Cards and supports Jpeg, RAW, High Def Video and MPEG-4. Woohoo!
I continue to find more and more uses and am looking forward to incorporating more business applications to streamline my work-flow.
And yes... you can entertain yourself with music, videos and games while you're waiting on your client to arrive.
