I like their ideas!
You can't be active on ActiveRain without being aware of the term "Hyper-Local Post". You may have read about it in Brad Andersohn's "How To Create A Blog Post" or maybe you accepted Bob Stewart's "Hyper-Local 7,000 Point Challenge". Then again you may have attended a Rain Camp such as Rain Camp DC which my husband and I did where "Hyper-Local" was discussed in great detail.
Arthur and I are firm believers in the concept and have now completed hyper-local posts on more than 50 subdivisions in our Northern Virginia market area. The posts in our major subdivisions have 6 key features that "brand" us to the public. The consistency of both format and material makes our posts and us easily recognized. They are:
- Commuting information
- Schools and libraries
- Subdivision slide show
- The "Kruschka Maps"
This week we listed a vacant 40 year old home for sale. It is beautifully maintained on a lovely lot, but it is a standard subdivision home that is 40 years old.
Our signs include a rider showing the link to our virtual tour site where you can see a video of the home.
The slide show on this home would not be dramatic.
Using all our AR acquired skills we decided to do a less than 2 minute slide show that had two elements.
We will appreciate your recommendations and comments about its' viability and value.
- photos of the home and lot
- photos of "homeowner relevant" businesses and services within a 5,10,15 and 25 minute radius of the home.
