The Benefits Of A Wraparound Porch

There is nothing like a wrap around porch on a home in the country or near the Water. You get to enjoy the critters and the sounds and smells of nature in the country BUT if you live near the water, you get to enjoy the sounds and smell of the Bay or River or Ocean.

The Benefits Of A Wraparound Porch

How about a relaxing morning sun or a cool summer evening sitting in your rocking chair and enjoying the outdoors on your own wraparound porch?

Wraparound porches offer charm and warmth and connect you with the outdoors.

Many wraparound porches are covered fixtures, providing the opportunity to entertain outside in all types of weather. Most of the time we see wraparound porches on Victorian, Vintage or Colonial style homes. We've seen some decorated with fans, interesting lighting fixtures, rocking chairs, hanging flower gardens and even artwork, creating an extra outdoor living space. It's a nice inviting feature as you enter a home.

The term wrap-around-porch refers to the exterior porch of the house as it wraps around the main house structure. It usually covers three sides of the home, front and both sides, or a long porch in the front and another long one on the side going up to the back of the house.

Wraparound porches capture classic charm and the convenience of enjoying the outdoors while being protected from the elements. The wraparound porch is a welcoming design and is great for relaxation and entertaining. When looking through the multiple listing service for Nassau and Suffolk County Long Island for 2012, we found that homes with wraparound porches sold between $270,000 for 3 bedroom 1.5 bath Colonial in Freeport to $1,275,000 Antique/Historic home with 3 bedrooms 2.5 baths in Southampton Long Island.
