To HDR or Not To HDR- Which Way Do You Like Best

This looks like a fun thing to learn. I like the idea of taking the photo then doing the editing with Picasa and iPiccy. I like the collages in iPiccy so this HDR step will certainly add some pizazz when creating collages of new listings.

To HDR or Not To HDR

I have been wating to try HDR mode ever since our photo guru William Johnson talked about it recently. This picture was taken at the Market Place in Disney World when we went at the end of November.

This first one is the original:

Disney Market Place

The second one was saved in HDR mode, which do you prefer?

Disney Market Place

The HDR-edited one has a painted quality like an impressionist painting.HDR mode is very interesting to play with. I've  tried it on several different photos and I think I like it. You wouldn't want to use it with everything but certain pictures lend themselves to the style. What does HDR mean? It stands for High Dynamic Range Imaging and you can find it as a choice on most high-end cameras so that you can take your picture that way. Not being a photographer-purist, I find it easier to take the picture and edit it HDR afterwards. That way I can save the original too.

I used HDR mode in Picasa but I could have used it in iPiccy too. Crop and sharpen your photo first in your photo editing program(I use Picasa); then in Picasa, I chose HDR. If you use iPiccy, you will have to upload your edited photo and then use HDR mode. Have fun!

Thanks, William.
