Day 14 Thankful Challenge Grateful to ActiverRain Member - Cheryl Ritchie

This is sweet that Kristin is thanking me. So let me thank everyone who helped me lately! Thanks to Jan and Steve Bachman for creating the Calvert County Video I use daily on blogs. Thanks to Margaret Rome for enduring every guinea pig tech tool adventure I ask her to try out with me. Thanks to Gita for a kind card, Wallace for Charlottesville tips, Lane for camera questions, Fernando for idea exchanges, surprise chats with lots and lots of you....and the list goes on!

Day 14 Thankful Challenge Grateful to ActiveRain Member - Cheryl Ritchie

Saturday morning my computer crashed. Out of the blue, McAfee sent me a message that a "trojan virus" had been removed!" Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Next, I get a message that says "???Something is trying to enter computer" so I ignored the message and shut down the computer but alas it was too late because as I re-started the computer, the Microsoft box sent me a big green and white box that said to click to fix. Even I am smart enough to know that is a virus who is either going to take over or get a credit card from me. My husband came to the rescue and after restarting it 6 times, determined it had to go in to be cleaned out and backed up! So into the shop it went right then.

My biggest concern was that I would not be able to do the "30 posts in 30 days" on my iPad so on Monday morning I was directed by Bob Stewart to Cheryl Ritchie. About that time Cheryl called me and was so impressed with her knowledge of iPads. I had just bought mine to take on a trip or to have clients do wet signatures but I had not gotten that far yet. Cheryl was wonderful and told me how to add images to my posts. Yes, I had continued to type posts on Saturday, Sunday and Monday but no pictures and that is boring to the reader. When I told her all my pictures are in my computer, she said take new ones today and embed them into the post. But how?

Now this was amazing, she told me I could email photos to my Flickr account and get the embedded code there and paste it in my drafts. I would have never thought of that so I got busy and sent some pictures from my iPhone to my Flickr account and it worked! From there I added a picture to the 3 posts I had just done that weekend.

So all I can say is THANK YOU CHERYL RITCHIE for all your help this week.

You were my lifesaver! Also Cheryl started an AR group "iPad Realtor App". I plan to read her posts from the back forward to get me up to speed on my iPad. Cheryl told me she does everything on her iPad now...amazing! Most of us are so tied to our computers so it can be devastating.

Oh I forgot something, besides paying the store to remove the virus, I had to pay an additional $149 to back-up all the data in my computer before they remove the virus or it may be lost forever. So this morning I found a post by Cheryl Ritchie entitled "Never, Never, Never, Never Give an Excuse to Fail to Back-Up" and Cheryl is so right. (I tried to add a link here with a html code but it didn't work)

ActiveRain has so many great members who are always there for us when we need something so instead of Googling the problem, put it in the AR Search and see whose name shows up because you can bet someone within the 320,000 members has had your particular issue show up and they have figured out the solution.

So on day 14:

I am Grateful for AR Member Cheryl Ritchie for being there when I needed her.

I am Grateful the store was able to retieve all my data from the computer.

I am Grateful to be an ActiveRain Rainmaker and have so many friends and followers.
